Easy Apple Recipes

OLD-FASHIONED APPLE SQUARES
What Do I Need?
1 egg
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup margarine
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup apples, peeled and diced
1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
non-stick spray
How Do I Make It?
1. Pre-heat oven to 350-degrees. Melt the margarine and mix in a large bowl with brown sugar, sugar, and the egg.
2. In a small bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Add this dry mixture into the margarine, sugar, and egg mixture and stir (or use a hand mixer) until combined and smooth.
3. Sir in apples and nuts.
4. Spray an 8x8 glass baking dish with non-stick spray. Pour in batter, and bake at 350-degrees for 35-40 minutes.
SLOW COOKER APPLES
What Do I Need?
6 large apples, core each and cut just a strip of peel off around the top
3/4 cup orange juice
1 teaspoon grated orange rind
1/2 cup apple cider
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup brown sugar
How Do I Make It?
1. Place apples in a slow cooker.
2. In a medium bowl, mix together orange juice, orange rind, apple cider, cinnamon, and brown sugar. Pour over apples.
3. Cook on low for 4 hours. Serve alone or with vanilla or cinnamon ice cream.
CLASSIC APPLE CRISP
What Do I Need?
4 cups apples, peeled and sliced
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 cup uncooked oatmeal
1/3 cup flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup margarine, melted
1/3 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
non-stick spray
How Do I Make It?
1. Pre-heat oven to 350-degrees. Spray an 8x8 glass baking dish with non-stick spray. Add the apples, sprinkle with lemon juice.
2. In a small bowl, mix together the oatmeal, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt and nuts. Mix in the melted margarine and stir until crumbly.
3. Sprinkle the crumbles over the apples. Bake at 350-degrees for about 30 minutes until apples are tender. Serve as is or with whipped cream or vanilla or cinnamon ice cream.
